Closure With Tonsure.

Deuteronomy 14:1

14 “Since you are the people of the Lord your God, never cut yourselves or shave the hair above your foreheads in mourning for the dead.

In eastern cultures however, India for instance, when a parent dies, the son is to tonsure or shave his head as a sign of mourning. I believe this practice was also present in the land of Canaan till differentiation was called for.

I did it when our mother died and did it again after our father died, after the ashes were collected the day after the cremation and immeresed in the Mulamutha river.
