Eric The Half A Bee.

I dedicate this to the great Monty Python fan Nandu and to Ashok who knows why!

A one… two– A one… two… three… four…
Half a bee, philosophically,
Must, ipso facto, half not be.
But half the bee has got to be
Vis a vis, its entity. D’you see?

But can a bee be said to be
Or not to be an entire bee
When half the bee is not a bee
Due to some ancient injury?

La dee dee, one two three,
Eric the half a bee.
A B C D E F G,
Eric the half a bee.

Is this wretched demi-bee,
Half-asleep upon my knee,
Some freak from a menagerie?
No! It’s Eric the half a bee!

Fiddle de dum, Fiddle de dee,
Eric the half a bee.
Ho ho ho, tee hee hee,
Eric the half a bee.

I love this hive, employee-ee,
Bisected accidentally,
One summer afternoon by me,
I love him carnally.

He loves him carnally,
The end.

Cyril Connelly?
No; semi-carnally!

Cyril Connelly.

  1. The book I’m listening to on ipad is BEES by Laline Paull. (2 ll-s not a mistake.) It all takes place inside a bee hive. There’s a rigid hierarchy so some bees are treated very badly. The drones are proud of their “pricks” so there’ll be some sex. The guards are violent. Kill bees that they think are inferior. These bees are characters we’ve come to know & love. I don’t like the book much but is a good put-to-sleep book for bedtime. 🙂

    1. I went to a new book which I can’t put down–I mean turn off. The only thing good about BEES was Queen put out her scent of Love that everyone got. I’ll listen more because they will be adventures when bees go out to gather honey.

  2. We loved Monty Python, but who is Nandu & why is Ashok the only one who gets to know why you like Nandu?

    1. Nandu is a good friend who was also my colleague during my working days. We have many things in common like language, school, native place etc. Ashok is a young lawyer involved in many child and woman abuse cases and he and I are in separate communication about a matter that jokingly this song refers to. I don’t think that Ashok knows why I like Nandu. He knows that I like everybody without any reason or rhyme.
