Foodies In My life.

Sandeep a foodie if ever one, escorted me home one evening last week from the park and spent some time at home with me, Ranjan and Manjiree talking about, no need to hold your breath, restaurants.

Manjiree mentioned the name of a restaurant that Sandeep must go to before going back to the UK. I could see the latter drooling about the possibility of having some good Greek food. Yes, the name was Zorba The Zen- Gastro Pub. I had never heard of the place, but apparently my foodie son and daughter in love had been there a number of times,

All that I could think of on hearing the name was this.

    1. The book as usual is a remarkable piece of writing and the story comes alive in the movie, thanks to Antony Quinn. One of his most memorable roles. I have seen the movie quite a few times. I have a DVD in my library.

  1. what a man that tony was. in real life as well as his films.
always just one step away from being the unshaven rogue who looked in need of a good bath.
    but he ate life!
and i like his laugh. it’s as if he knew a private joke. perhaps the secret of life itself.
    and what a painter!
oops. i never even made it to the point of your post! LOL!

    1. Yes, Antony Quinn was a remarkable man on screen and off it. I have a DVD of Zorba and have seen it a number of times.

Like all Mediterranean cuisine, Greek food too is supposed to be among the healthier options. I have never had any and shall investigate this lead and blog about my experience.

  2. “food” glorious “food” – okay there are certain foods that I have difficulties with – but on the whole a nice bright vegetable, bread, seafood – all good to go…and yes I have eaten
    Greek foods.

    1. I have never had Greek food but after this post, I am determined to have one grand meal soon. There are five restaurants here offering Greek cuisine and I shall investigate at least two soon and blog about the experience.
