I hope that you enjoy reading this post on the weekly Friday Loose Bloggers Consortium where eleven of us write on the same topic. Today’s topic has been chosen by Shackman. The ten other bloggers who write regularly are, in alphabetical order, Delirious, gaelikaa, Grannymar, Maxi, Maria SF, Padmum, Paul, Shackman, The Old Fossil and Will. Do drop in on their blogs and see what their take is on this week’s topic. Since some of them may post late, do give some allowance for that too!

alpine goat kid

The most popular are the Alpine variety. They are highly valued for their soft hide which goes into making kid gloves, soft lady’s boots, and so on and the meat is said to be the best goat meat one could have.

Beyond that, there is little that I know about kids. My interest in them was when I researched for the origins of the word kid gloves as I was told to treat someone with kid gloves and did not know what it meant.

Just kidding Shackman. I hope that I got a chuckle out of you.

  1. I know a lot about kids. I grew up milking goats and having kids for pets (and later finding out they were dinner fare). My sisters’ favorite response when we would say, “Hey, Kid”, which was popular in my young days was tor retort, “If I’m a kid, you’re a goat…and all the slop goes down your throat.” No kidding!
