“In a world of fugitives, the person taking the opposite direction will appear to run away.”
~ T.S. Eliot
Both Shackman who proposed this topic for the LBC post this week and I have personal experience of this phenomenon. It has been true for both of us that life is what happens when we are busy making other plans. It did not surprise me at all that he chose this topic.
If my experience has been this, I cannot but wonder at so many lives that seem to follow a planned and well set path. Placid, unhurried, stress-free and totally predictable. I am sure that my readers will recognise the phenomenon. From birth one’s education, employment, marriage etc are all planned for and life goes according to those plans with nary a hitch. Those lives in turn perform the same things that their parents performed and one more generation goes through life without any ripples leave alone waves and breakers.
This leads me to wonder if there is something working favourably for them and unfavourably for me! Such thoughts drives me to seek answers in books and Gurus and so far, the only explanation that I have come across which, in the absence of any other, is that there is a law of karma that works inexplicably and the best that one can do is to “sit quietly and let the spring come and watch the grass grow by itself.”
I hope you enjoyed reading this post on the weekly Friday Loose Bloggers Consortium where twelve of us write on the same topic. Today’s topic has been chosen by Shackman. The eleven other bloggers who write regularly are, in alphabetical order, Anu, Delirious, gaelikaa, Grannymar, Maxi, Maria SF, ocdwriter, Padmum, Paul, Shackman, The Old Fossil and Will. Do drop in on their blogs and see what their take is on this week’s topic. Since some of them may post late, do give some allowance for that too!
