I read some nice reviews and was intrigued enough with the story line, the director and the cast to venture out in incessant rains to go to a theater to see Lucy on Monday.
Total time spent inside the theater – 2 hours including advertisements, previews etc. The film itself was only of an hour and forty minutes duration and that was the biggest plus point of the experience.
Credible performances by the director Luc Besson, Morgan Freeman and Scarlett Johansson could not make the storyline come alive without resorting to mindless action and violence. If the subliminal message is to showcase how a woman can be illtreated by the system, it does not come out very clearly. The high decibel level of the soundtrack was another irritant and overall, the experience was something that I could have done without.
If you are interested in half baked science fiction, and are willing to put up with what I had to endure, by all means give it a shot.
Well, what can we get from Hollywood! I lost repect for LA, when TItanic was billed as the movie of the century ( maybe, they didn’t mention which century).

You are one of a kind Srinivas!
I’m afraid just reading the description turned me off. But thanks for the warning. At least it got you out of the house so you could enjoy being back home!

And believe me CM, I had a grand time at the mall before and after the screening.
i want to watch!
Please do and let us know your own take on it.
You need a pair of EarPlanes to deal with the noisy cinema. They are devices usually used to equalize the pressure on either side of the eardrum while flying. I have worn them in the cinema and Gig I was at a month or so ago. You still hear what is going on, but it dulls that dreadful unnecessary noise.

Have just ordered for them Grannymar. Thank you for that advice. I shall report on their usefulness when I next go to the movies and use them.
Not familiar with this title at all so I will keep my eye out for it. Hard to hear they may have wasted the talents of Freeman and Johannson. 😕

Part of the reasons that I went was the fact of their presence.
I freely admit to being a fan of half-baked scifi so I am looking forward to seeing this one. I’m not surprised you didn’t think much of it but thanks fir the review.
Have fun and do please share your views with us.
PS – I just saw Saving Mr Banks and found it delightful – have you seen that one?
I bought the DVD some time ago and have not got around to seeing it yet. Will do one of these days when I have nothing better to do!
