New Year Greetings.

2021 is here with us and what better can lead us into it than the inimitable Lucy?

I do not have a Lucy in my life but, my daughter in love more than makes up for that lack. She bullied me into getting dressed “properly” and took me out to lunch at our local club earlier today.   I had gone for a drive only once before during this lockdown and this was my second outing after March 5, 2020. I thoroughly enjoyed it though, wearing the mask was quite a nuisance.

The outing has given me the confidence to make other forays and I intend doing that to catch up with some socialising and shopping soon.

I take this opportunity to wish my readers a very happy and certainly a much better 2021. I hope as I am sure they do too that the Covid problem will leave us soon and that we can get back to some semblance of normalcy soon.

  1. I’m happy that you were able to have an enjoyable outing and that you may be able to do more of them.

I don’t know how many “outings” we’ve done, but we still mostly stay at home. Our excursions are mostly brief and for specific purposes. My most recent trips were to dispose of old metal items cleaned up from our 3 1/2 acres—including the old utility trailer we hauled them in on—, purchasing a new 2021 flat-bed utility trailer, obtaining a license plate for the new trailer, and 3 trips to the Ozark National Forest to release squirrels I had caught in a live trap. The forest boundary is just a little over 6 miles away.

    I hope you have a good—and safe—2021!

  2. I am no strangest to “outings” due to the low number of cases here. But good for you for getting out and I hope you didn’t pay a price later as I tend to do when I go out.

  3. Happy New Year all !! I work in a manufacturing factory environment; we have no choice but to physically go to work; deal with the UPS and FedEx delivery drivers and work with other workers. I come home always worried hoping not to get infected.

I simply say my prayers to the Powers above me and hope that the whole world with all its beings are safe and healthy.
