    1. It is quite common in our part of the world where the passport is usually just a document needed to go to work in the Middle East. Happens when a contract for labour extends for some reason and the worker is not able to leave the country on time before the validity of the passport expires. It is done primarily to avoid paying the full renewal charges.

    1. One month extensions are normally given to protected workers passports where the contracted labour is unable to leave the country before the expiry of the passport’s validity to lessen the financial burden of a full renewal.

  2. I’d say a head or two will roll for this. They must be mortified. I’ll refrain from laughing. I once typed someone’s death certificate which had a middle-aged person dead before they were born, thanks to a typing error. Luckily enough, the officer who signed the certificate got the backlash from the boss. I got off relatively lightly.
