Regrets, Dad is no more

Hello all,

Regret to inform you all that Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep yesterday afternoon – 21st April, 2023, at around 3.45 pm. Just around noon we were sharing a laugh as he didn’t want to eat breakfast/lunch and kept saying “tomorrow”. So I laughed and asked if it was his exit strategy. We fed him a liquid lunch and then he seemed to settle down, with very regular breathing.

Do remember him fondly and smile. He was not one for grieving or sadness, lived life to the full. If you’re a drinker, have a couple of drinks in his name, if you’re not, toast him with tea/coffee/whatever 🙂 Hugs all around. Peace be with you.

  1. A real gentleman is how I describe your late father. He will be missed by many. I might even attempt a crossword puzzle in his honour. Love to you and all your family

  2. He really did live life to the full. Like many, I would describe him as a wise and generous uncle.
I’m so sorry for your loss and I hope you remember him with joy, as you suggest.

  3. I will so miss your Dad, a very kind man who showed me “India” and his life, and shared as much if not more about that. He would often send me a link about life that appeared in his news about where I am in the world, New Zealand. I appreciated his care of me…
I think I shall browse some of his posts, from when he started blogging, I note 2008. I hope you will retain the website for a few months.
Take care Ranjan and Manigree – Catherine from New Zealand

  4. So sad to hear this news. But glad he went peacefully. I, too, will miss his posts. He always had nice and interesting things to say in his posts. Thank you for keeping us informed.
    Take care.

  5. I am sure he would shake his head at any tears… nevertheless, I do shed some at this news. He will be missed and always remembered with fondness.
