Reminders.

Grannymar‘s Sunday oneliner this week is: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
~ Dr. Seuss.

Yesterday, my sister Padmini published a photograph from her collection on her Facebook wall.

This is my late wife Urmeela with our son Ranjan during our halcyon days. I did not even know that this photograph existed and do not remember when this was taken and by who. It did however affect me enough to make me a bit melancholy till I came across another photograph taken more recently.
Manj and RanjThis is my daughter in law Manjiree with my son Ranjan taken just a few months ago.

We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognising & appreciating what we DO HAVE.

  1. Love seeing your pictures. I notice Ranjan is looking Western in his jeans & jacket & is nice looking guy.

  2. beautiful rummy. in all ways.
and i know it hurts to see urmeela’s sweet face.
it’s always bittersweet to look at someone we loved now gone.
but how fortunate she lives on in your son.
and the happiness just shines from manjiree and ranjan!
i clicked twice on it. it grew bigger. such a handsome couple!
and it didn’t hurt that puppy chutki is in the background. LOLOL.

tammyj recently posted..what’s it all about?

    1. Thank you Tammy. The photograph of M and R was taken in M’s parents’ home and the dog in the background is their pet Cookie. Chutki will not be so docile when there is action around.

  3. Nice post. I’m sure the old photo gave you a sense of nostalgia. Lovely pic of Ranjan and Manjiri – your daughter-in-law is gorgeous! And that’s a well-fed and content-looking Chutki in the background I assume?
