The most popular are the Alpine variety. They are highly valued for their soft hide which goes into making kid gloves, soft lady’s boots, and so on and the meat is said to be the best goat meat one could have.
Beyond that, there is little that I know about kids. My interest in them was when I researched for the origins of the word kid gloves as I was told to treat someone with kid gloves and did not know what it meant.
