“If you reveal your secrets to the wind you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees.”
– Kahlil Gibran
I am not a great one for either sharing my secrets with others, nor encouraging others to share their secrets with me.
I believe that secrets are not worth the trouble of either sharing or inviting from others. Sooner than later, secrets are revealed and one can be unjustly blamed for letting them out. This has happened to me a number of times in my youth and hence my aversion to the very idea of secrets. Usually, secrets end up being gossip with heads and tails attached and that is the last thing that I would want to happen to any information that I share with anyone. I have been exposed enough to the game of Chinese Whispers, in actual life not to trust any so called secrets.
I can understand the need for secrecy in some important state or defense matters and even corporate strategies, but at the individual level, I do not see any need for them.
