My fellow Friday 2 on 1 blogger Shackman has suggested this week’s topic as “Time For Some Fun” and gives three topics. Please go over to his blog to see what he has to say about this topic.
Favourite song lyrics.
Most overrated book/series.
Fave movie in the last year.
The first one is very simple for me. It is this poignant song that has been a ear worm for me for decades.
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
Girls have picked them every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young girls gone?
Taken husbands every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young men gone?
Gone for soldiers every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time ago.
The next one – Most overrated book/series.
For me, it is a no brainer. It is How To Make Friends And Influence People. . In my not so humble opinion, it is the most superficial way to establish relationships and not for long term ties. The less said the better about this book that made many people snake oil salesmen.
The last one – Fave movie in the last year. For me it was Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
I’ve always loved that song, my favourite version would be Peter Paul and Mary.
As to that book, I agree, it was a human-user manual.
Haven’t heard of that movie yet.

The P P & M version is also good but, I heard this version first and I have stayed with it all these years. Bahubali may not ever come to Canada!
I have been watching Indian movies on cable – mostly cop stuff but they are interesting to see.
Although our song choices are different the sentiments of both are somewhat similar
We are soul brothers bro!
My favourite song lyric is Guilty by Bonnie Raitt – so sad and so poignant.
Not sure about most over-rated book, but I could name some over-rated authors, especially Philip Roth (“Operation Shylock” has to be the worst book I’ve ever read) and James Joyce (his short story “The Dead” is said to be the best short story ever, but I thought it was quite mediocre).
My favourite film is either Blue Jasmine or The Wife.
I also like Where Have All The Flowers Gone. Simple but moving.
Guilty ranks among my top ten too. I agree that The Wife is a good movie. I haven’t seen Blue Jasmine.
I can’t choose what I like…but I love early Rock n Roll…
but right now I’m listening to the playlist for Electric Light Orchestra which I also love…
Classic folk song. I remember singing it at girl scout camp as a little girl.
I agree with you about the Carnegie book. Seems Machiavellian to me.
I have lost count of the number of occasions on which I have joined choruses of that song in my youth.
